The ESG Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro was established with the intention of improving ESG standards and promoting ESG values in Montenegro, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development. The committee will serve as a platform for sharing best practices and knowledge of AmCham member companies in the following areas:
1. Environment: circular economy, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, renewable energy, waste management;
2. Social – social principles: human rights, socially responsible business, initiatives for gender empowerment, equality, diversity, inclusion;
3. Governance: management structure, transparency, AML best practices, conflict of interest, ethical behavior, risk management, etc.
The Committee cooperates with other international and local organizations on the improvement of ESG standards in Montenegro, as well as with decision-makers regarding the improvement of the regulatory framework and practice in this area.
