2023AmCham General Assembly: New members of the Board of Governors elected and presented the Plan for 2024
The AmCham General Assembly Session was held today at the Hilton Hotel, during which participants elected members of the Board of Governors, adopted the Work Report for the previous year, as well as the Plan for 2024. New members of the Bord are Nikola Tripković (Coca Cola Hellenic), Nemanja Nikolić (Hilton Podgorica Montenegro) and Nebojša Sćekić (Sava Insurance), while Katarina Bulatović (KB Consulting), Luka Popović (BDK Advokati) and Sava Laketić (PwC) have been re-elected.
Mrs. Svetlana Vuksanović, the AmCham President greeted Assembly participants and in her opening address pointed out that she hopes that in the coming year, the Chamber will further strengthen its position as the most respectful business community in the country, and through the AmCham Platform – Rule of Dialogue for cooperation with the Government of Montenegro, which was officially supported by the Prime Minister, Mr. Milojko Spaić, work to improve the business environment in Montenegro to attract American and other investments.
The General Session was also attended by U.S. Ambassador H.E. Judy Rising Reinke, who pointed out that an increasing number of American investors are interested in Montenegro, which could be an opportunity for creating new jobs and boosting economic growth. The Embassy, together with the American Chamber of Commerce, will continue to closely cooperate with representatives of the Government on the development of a series of new activities within the framework of the bilateral platform, and the US-Montenegro Economic Dialogue.
The AmCham Executive Director, Marko Miročević, Ph., presented to the members of the Chamber the Work Report for the previous year as well as the Plan for 2024. He said that AmCham’s strategic priorities are: Digital transformation and the adoption of new technologies – so Montenegro can be a part of the developed countries that have embraced digital evolution as a development opportunity; Gray economy suppression – to create a business environment based on the rule of law and fair competition; Human capital and labor relations development – because human resource is the most important development resource; Healthcare – area where AmCham traditionally works intensively on improving healthcare protection and medicines availability; and ESG – to promote and educate our economy and society about the standards in this area, which will define sustainable business. Regarding this, the AmCham plans to intensify almost all its activities and offer new forms of events that serve the purpose of achieving the Chamber’s mission.
