2022Investing in Health and Education leads to a more economically prosperous society
The American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro handed over three donations through which will provide the General Hospital from Bijelo Polje with an ECG machine and a machine for twin pregnancy monitoring, Dormitory for Students “Braća Vučinić” from Nikšić with wireless internet equipment, and Elementary School “Drago Milović” from Tivat with funds for classroom’s reconstruction, tonight at the New Year’s cocktail. The donation decision was made by AmCham Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.
The AmCham President, Mrs. Svetlana Vuksanović, emphasized during her speech that AmCham has once again demonstrated that it’s truly dedicated to improving the business environment, as well as developing a social responsibility culture. A better business environment, the President said, cannot be achieved if we do not invest in pillars of every economically prosperous society, Health and Education.
The donation was supported by: Coca Cola HBC, Butterfly finance AD, Erste bank, Uniqa insuriance, Tara Brskovo, BDK lawyers, First Line Software, Farmegra, SnT, Henly and Partners, Addiko bank, Trebjesa, Golden group, Crnogorski Telecom, CKB bank, Glosarij, Sava insurance and Radonjic and associates.
Vuksanović also pointed out that AmCham is particularly proud of the last business year, during which the Platform “Rule of Dialogue” was launched, with the aim to contribute to better quality and timely communication between decision makers and the business community, as well as for participating in the organization of the first historic U.S. Trade Mission in Montenegro, in cooperation with the Department of Commerce of the United States of America, the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro and the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, expressing hope that there will be many more trade missions in the near future.
On this occasion, the U.S. Ambassador, Her Excellency, Judy Rising Reinke, was awarded with the Certificate of Appreciation for her dedication and effort in helping AmCham accomplishes its mission in Montenegro.
Ambassador Reinke said that she is proud of the work that the U.S. Embassy and AmCham have done together as a partners. “I am proud of how we worked together to support economic growth, how we advocated reforms that would enable companies to create jobs and how we encouraged public-private partnership based on cooperation, openness and dialogue,” the Ambassador pointed out.
The American Chamber of Commerce currently gathers 89 American, international, and domestic companies in Montenegro and is a member of the European network of American Chambers of Commerce. It is dedicated to achieving its mission of improving the business environment to attract American and other foreign investments.
