Svetlana Vuksanović re-elected as president of the AmCham Board of Governors

Podgorica, July 25 – Svetlana Vuksanović was unanimously re-elected President of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro. The decision was made at the first meeting of the Board of Governors after the regular AmCham Annual Assembly Meeting.

In accordance with the Bylaws of the American Chamber of Commerce, she will preside over the Chamber and the General Assembly, supervise the affairs and interests of the Chamber and, together with the Executive Director, represent it in external relations.

“AmCham strives to improve the business environment in order to make it attractive for reputable investors to come and stay in Montenegro. In order to succeed in this, we must reach the standards of developed countries, and this is not possible without high-quality cooperation and communication between decision makers and the private sector from the very beginning and continuously, on every topic that affects the business environment. With that in mind, we launched our new platform for cooperation with the Government of Montenegro and other public institutions, called “Rule of Dialogue”, Vuksanović pointed out.

At the “Openly with the Prime Minister” event, at the beginning of June this year, AmCham signed an umbrella Memorandum on Cooperation on the “Rule of Dialogue” program with the Prime Minister, Mr. Dritan Abazović, PhD and the signing of individual memorandums on cooperation with the relevant ministries is underway with which AmCham will work on the improvement of the business environment in Montenegro, with the aim of reaching the standards of developed countries that we strive for.

“AmCham prepares its “Business Environment Report” every other year, and our members continuously express their support for EU accession. That is why the activities of our committees are aimed at helping the Government in amending existing and adopting new laws that are harmonized with EU standards. By adopting the standards of developed countries, we will significantly increase the probability of the arrival of renowned investors from the USA and the EU to Montenegro,” concluded Vuksanović.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro is part of the global AmCham network, which in Europe alone has 46 AmChams and represents the interests of 17,000 companies. For 13 years, he has been the leading collective voice of the renowned business community in our country, as well as a promoter of improving the business environment in order to attract American and other foreign investments.
