Podgorica, June 6 – The Government of Montenegro and the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro signed a Memorandum of Cooperation within the new program of the Chamber entitled “Rule of Dialogue”. The Memorandum was signed by the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr. Dritan Abazović, PhD, and the AmCham Board of Governors President, Ms. Svetlana Vuksanović, at the traditional event “Openly with the Prime Minister”.
AmCham Executive Director, Mr. Marko Miročević said that the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation marks the beginning of a new phase of more intensive partnership on the path to improving the business environment, whose main goal is the Rule of Dialogue.
“Timely, continuous and quality communication between the business community and public administration, in a structured way, and at the earliest stage in policy making, as envisaged by AmCham Rule of Dialogue program, will increase the effects of our teamwork. In the end, that will truly improve the business environment and bring it closer to the standards of developed economies“, Mr. Miročević pointed out.
The U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, H.E. Judy Rising Reinke, welcomed the partnership of the United States of America with the Government of Montenegro and the American Chamber of Commerce.
“We encourage strong cooperation and open dialogue between the public and private sectors, which will improve the business climate, create transparency and trust and build the best environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, which are key factors in Montenegro’s success,” said Rising Reinke.
The traditional conversation “Openly with the Prime Minister” discussed the most important issues for the business community and the opportunities and challenges facing Montenegro.
AmCham Board of Governors President, Ms. Svetlana Vuksanović said that the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Government of Montenegro and AmCham lays a good foundation to contribute to a predictable and transparent business environment based on the Rule of Law through the Rule of Dialogue program.
“I am confident that together, as partners, through AmCham Rule of Dialogue program, we will strengthen the basis for retaining existing and attracting new reputable investors from the U.S. and Western European countries, who expect a safe, transparent and predictable business environment.” said Ms. Vuksanović.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr. Dritan Abazović, PhD emphasized the importance of signing the Memorandum of Cooperation and the activities of the American Chamber of Commerce when it comes to the development of the business and business community.
“Timely involvement of esteemed partners from AmCham in the existing high level platforms for dialogue between the Government of Montenegro and the economy is invaluable for the Government I lead in the context of creating a predictable business environment, with special focus on combating the gray economy, implementing smart economic diversification, implementation of carefully designed structural reforms as well as creation of well-paid jobs for the citizens of Montenegro “, said Mr. Abazović.
As it was announced, in the following period, the American Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro will sign special memorandums of cooperation with each relevant ministry separately.
