AmCham delegation at the meeting with the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare

“Creating a predictable and transparent business environment, based on the rule of law, is the basis for attracting foreign investors and economic growth and development of the state. The Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare are open to all forms of cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce, in order to improve the business environment, “said Minister Milojko Spajic, at the meeting with the delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro, which was led by AmCham President, Nikola Tripkovic.

Cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare will be achieved through the AmCham Tax Committee and the Grey Economy Committee, within the AmCham program “Partnership for a Better Business Environment”, whose main goal is to raise mutual understanding between the private and public sectors, through business community involvement in the process of drafting laws and other regulations.

Minister Spajić emphasized that cooperation in the field of taxes and suppression of the gray economy is of a special importance, bearing in mind that the improvement of these areas is one of the priorities of this Government. “I am especially pleased that, in the process of reforming and improving the business environment, which is our firm commitment, we enjoy the support of the American Chamber of Commerce, which is present in 117 countries around the world. Economic growth and development can be achieved if there is cooperation with all sectors and relevant institutions and bodies, “said Minister Spajić.

At the meeting it was agreed that the first steps in strengthening the cooperation will be in the area of ​​a payroll taxation. The main goal is that business community is timely involved in the process of creating policies and amending legal regulations governing this area.
