AmCham Environmental Committeee held the first meeting with the representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism within the program PBBE

AmCham Environmental Committee held the first meeting this year, within the program Partnership for Better Business Environment (PBBE) with the representatives of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism on Thursday, 27th September. The Ministry was represented by Mrs. Milena Mijajlović, Mrs. Ivana Vojinović and Mr. Dragan Asanović.

The meeting was used in order to present member companies of the Committee to the Ministry and their devotion when it comes to environmental policy. Furthermore, the emphasis was put on the Position Paper regarding waste management in Montenegro. This document focuses on raising awareness about key questions from this area, removing regulatory obstacles regarding waste management, circular economy and other. Bearing in mind the complexity of Chapter 27, the Environmental Committee fully supports the Government’s obligations on European integration process. The Ministry, on the other hand, expressed their grattitude for the inclusion of member companies and for the recommendations given their practices or comparative experiences.

At the end, the attendees expressed their willingness for cooperation and agreed on taking further steps to be taken by the relevant stakeholders in this area, announcing an even intensive collaboration within the Program Partnership for Better Business Environment.
