2016TeleGroup hosted an IT security workshop in Montenegro
Companies and institutions are faced with new challenges that threaten their information and communication systems, which is why it is necessary for private and public sector, to join forces in responding to this growing challenge. This is the main conclusion from the IT security workshop held in Montenegro under the title “Step outside of targeted attacks,” which was organized in Podgorica by TeleGroup and Cisco, with support from the U.S. Embassy and AmCham Montenegro. The workshop presented the latest solutions to prevent hacker attacks, computer viruses and other malware.
Director of TeleGroup Montenegro, Ms. Marija Raseta-Vukosavljevic, stressed the importance of cooperation between the state and other users of information and communication systems, in order to keep the stability of the economy and society.
“Information security is a cornerstone of the economic stability of each country. Attacks in cyberspace cause huge financial losses for companies or institutions, lead to the loss of confidence of users, data theft and identity theft and endanger the client reputation. In response, TeleGroup offers solutions that are a reflection of global trends and our role as a local partner is to adjust them to the needs of the Montenegrin market and bring them closer to our customers, ” said Ms. Raseta – Vukosavljevic .
Her Excellency, the U.S. Ambassador Margaret Ann Uyehara, expressed the hope that today’s workshop will further deepen ties between the U.S. and Montenegrin business communities.
„Maintaining a high level of security in our information systems is a challenge for industry and government alike. As we work to identify solutions to protect our data and infrastructure, a multi-stakeholder approach, that includes public institutions, corporations, the academic community, and civil society, is vital to this effort. ” said Ambassador Uyehara.
During his introductory remarks, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications Mr. Vujica Lazovic said that the Ministry has established the Directorate for protection against computer and security incidents – CIRT team, which is the umbrella body in the country in the field of cyber security. “We are developing teams at the local level as well, and it is our intention that every state institution should establish a body responsible for this area.” said Mr. Lazovic.
The workshop was attended by 50 representatives of state institutions, banks and SMEs. The workshop host TeleGroup deals with the design and implementation of ICT solutions in the area of software applications, integrating telecommunications, IT, electricity and gas infrastructure.
