Mirocevic attended the AmCham Conference in the United States

Last week, Mr. Marko Mirocevic, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro (AmCham Montenegro), paid a visit to Washington D.C. to attend the annual conference organized by AmChams in Europe. On this occasion, more than 30 AmCham representatives from 28 countries visited Washington D.C.

Traditionally, the conference was an opportunity for representatives of AmCham’s offices in Europe to meet. It’s focus was on sharing experiences and best practices, as well as on the acceleration of economic relations between the U.S. and Europe. Likewise, this gathering is a valuable tool for improving the cooperation between AmCham offices in European countries and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The intensive program of this visit consisted of numerous lectures, seminars, visits, and direct meetings with influential stakeholders and decision makers.

The central part of this year’s conference was on digital economy and the issue of protection of data privacy during a seminar in the U.S. Department of Commerce. Additionally, the discussion on opportunities and challenges for U.S. business in Europe was held, with a special emphasis on the discussion on TTIP (The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), a proposed free trade agreement between the European Union and the United States, which should additionally include countries such as Canada, Mexico, and the candidate countries for accession to the EU and EFTA.

During his visit, Mr. Mirocevic had the opportunity to meet with representatives of companies such as Pay Pal, MasterCard and Google, as well as to participate in a OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council) briefing, regarding the safety of operations in Europe. Moreover, Mr. Mirocevic visited the Embassy of Montenegro in Washington D.C., where he met with the Montenegrin Ambassador to the Unites States, H.E. Srdjan Darmanovic.

AmCham Montenegro is a part of the AmChams in Europe’s network, comprised of 45 chambers in 43 countries. This influential network is accredited by the largest business association in the world, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. whose network consists of 117 AmCham offices in the world, with a total membership of about 3 million companies.

AmCham Montenegro was founded in 2008, with a mission to contribute to improving the business environment in order to attract more U.S. and other investments. AmCham was formally accredited in 2010 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. and became a member of this influential business association.
