AmCham Lecture on Family Business Management

AmCham Montenegro in cooperation with its Patron member Domain.me, hosted a lecture entitled “Family Businesses – the Pillar of Economic Development”, on Friday, April 17, at the Hotel Best Western Premier, Podgorica. The speaker and author of this project, Mr. Dragan Močević, is an entrepreneur and founder of several NGOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The lecture served as a great opportunity for AmCham members to better understand the importance of proper management in family-owned companies for their success on the market. It was assessed that family-owned businesses can be the pillar of economic development, if managed properly.

More than 30 representatives of 15 AmCham member companies attended this lecture. The focus of the lecture was on understanding the key challenges and specifics of family businesses, such as the transfer from the first into the second generation, as well as establishing the right structure and tradition in company’s management. Moreover, through a series of examples from practice, the lecture provided a number of useful advice to the participants with respect to managing family businesses.

AmCham Montenegro will continue to organize different workshops and lectures in order to help improve the business and social environment in Montenegro.
