Representatives of AmCham Montenegro held a meeting today with the Union of Free Trade Unions of Montenegro. The meeting was initiated by AmCham Montenegro in order to establish communication and define grounds for cooperation in Labor Law reform.

The focal point of the meeting was the position document produced by AmCham’s Labor Relations Committee and the overall situation in labor relations in Montenegro. Representatives of the Union of Free Trade Unions stressed the importance of developing a culture of social dialogue in Montenegro. He added that both business associations and trade unions should cooperate on developing this segment of labor relations.

The meeting was the first formal contact amongst the two institutions, which agreed to follow-up with meetings in order to discuss concrete steps of cooperation to improve labor regulations and practice in Montenegro.
