Prime Minister Djukanovic Headlines AmCham Business Luncheon

AmCham organized a business luncheon featuring the Prime Minister of Montenegro, H.E. Milo Đukanović, as its guest speaker. The event took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the RAMADA Podgorica. During her introductory address, AmCham President Svetlana Vuksanovic expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the Montenegrin Government and AmCham in the area of economic reforms despite the challenging economic conditions in the region. Ms. Vuksanovic also pointed to the need to exploit new sources of development.

Prime Minister Đukanović addressed AmCham members and guests, presenting progress made by the new government in various economic sectors and concrete investment projects aimed at enhancing economic growth. He specified the government’s commitment to achieve fiscal consolidation, reduce the budget deficit and control external debt in order to achieve balance greater fiscal balance.

Mr. Đukanović also mentioned the need for public administration to become more efficient in order to service investors and work towards eliminating business barriers. During his address, he acknowledged cooperation with AmCham and the U.S. Embassy in Podgorica in addressing economic issues. Mr Đukanović assured participants that the government will continue to work on securing a more predictable business environment for investors and maintain consistency with policy solutions.

The event included a question and answer session, where guests had an opportunity to ask the Prime Minister questions about current matters regarding legislative and institutional framework for enhancing investments in Montenegro.
